Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility is a terminology that has arisen from the evolutionary change of dynamics that has occurred between businesses and society. It has come about as a result of globalization and changing societal expectations leading to what can be termed responsible consumption. People are starting to care about how their products are made and where their products are made.

However it is not simply a 'strategy' that can be implemented as a division of business in order to address current consumer trends. Its more than just charity, donations, value maximization and brand insurances to maximize profits. Its about integration of ethical practices and sustainability into the core aims of the business model in order to simply progress into the future. Its about recognizing  the power and influences that most businesses can have and using that to lead. Acknowledging that its not what a business does but how they go about it. Authentic leadership. In the face of masses in submission, at the mercy of the world at a tipping point it is something that is needed. We are challenged by inequality, volatile financial markets and political systems that are yet to adapt to our ever changing needs. But even more so worryingly we are facing the detrimental impacts of excessive consumption on the very environmental systems that sustain us. Corporate Social Responsibility is action and being a catalyst for action. Power is in the people. And that's why influence in my onion yields more power than money,
